IWP a leading institute in women education in vocational as well as professional studies, today celebrated its annual festival “Melange-The Blend of Art 2016” at Jawaharlal Stadium, New Delhi. The event was dotted with ample of happenings like Fashion Show (Ethnic, Indo-western and Western), Play, Musical, Dance performances etc. Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi (Member of Parliament) was the chief guest. Mr. Vishal Nijhawan, Managing Director International Women Polytechnic hosted the occasion. Also present were Mr. Samir Valia Executive Director, Mr. Subroto Mukherjee, Mr. Kunal & Mr. Nikhil the Centre Directors of IWP.
Ms. Varsha Sharma (Dy. Commissioner of Police), Ms. Parvathy Omanakuttan (Former Miss India Winner & Miss World Runner- Up), Ms. Liza Varma (Former Miss. India & Leading fashion choreographer), Ms. Ila Kumar Valia (Consultant- Fashion & Lifestyle), Ms. Swareena Singh Sirohi (Miss India Finalist), Ms. Lotty Allaire (A TV Commentator, Theatre Artist and a Movie Actor) and Ms. Seitu Kumar Aneja (Miss India Finalist and famous stylist) were some of the industry leaders who mentored students with their vast experiences and ideas in the noble endeavour by IWP.
Melange, gave the students a plethora of information and open access to professionals in the Fashion and lifestyle. With its attempt to networking the students with industry stalwarts through meet, greet and guidance, it tried to connect students with active professionals who have themselves gone through business’s complex system. They provided the students with advice and ideas and expected to excel. The girls at IWP were exposed to the realities of post education and develop a working intuition of how to navigate their future.
Blessing the event, Chief Guest, Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi (Member of Parliament) said, “It is a great honour for me to be a part of Mélange. The occasion is a blend of the passion, knowledge, and access to information required to navigate education in the dynamic industry. While the present reality is that many talented students are not getting enough opportunities to present and perform their skills which are required to create ripples in the professional network. Melange is the platform that gives students a thoughtful access to a network of professionals and opportunities to work in industry community. It gives an interactive stage where they can find people who can mentor them for a longer run.”
Adding to this Mr. Vishal Nijhawan, Managing Director, IWP shared his views “The need to uplift the status of women in our country has been our prime concern since long. The Polytechnic’s motto has always been to deliver quality education to women of all ages, in any phase of their lives, of all communities, at all levels and to provide information, which is relevant to comprehend and boost their self esteem. Through Mélange, we are trying to impart a crucial value that transforms a woman to a woman of substance, purpose & confidence.”
After the lamp-lighting ceremony the students of IWP Janakpuri branch presented a graceful Vandana to start the event. The Event moved ahead with various performances of rock show, Music, Dance and Play etc. The event progressed with colourful Fashion show, where students from all the Delhi branches of IWP showcased the glimpse of Ethnic, Indo-western and Western. In first round IWP students made their entry on the ramp with Ethnic Wears which portrayed the Indian culture and its heritage. In second round they came-up with the mix of indo western and western dresses which was an incredible concoction of design and colour.
The Students of the polytechnic showcased fabulous collection during the fashion show, which were not only designed by them but also buying the fabric, drafting, sketching, stitching, embroidering, and finishing of the garment is done by the students themselves and this very feature of the polytechnic’s educational aspect gives the students, the much needed confidence and zeal to continue performing well.
Lastly, there were awards conferred upon students who deserved in each category of the fashion show. The students were delighted to get felicitated but their parents who were even happier to see their daughter’s skills and confidence. The Judges, The Guests and Everybody in the auditorium were full of praise for the International Women Polytechnic, who took the initiative to bring out the best talent of their students from behind the closet.

Melange ‘the blend of art’ is an annual festival of International Women Polytechnic which followed by Fashion Show, Dance and musical performances, Skit/Drama, and Ms. IWP etc. IWP runs under the trust- Kundan Lal Govind Ram Educational Society. The trust is working on building and shaping today’s women’s confidence, skill for bringing them at par with global standards. To bless such endeavours, we are sure your organization too would like to spread awareness of woman empowerment and take concrete steps for ensuring Women’s Rights, to stop discrimination against woman, violence against women and change the society’s attitude towards women.
IWP have been working on the above since last 15 years and take out of the box initiative by teaching and training our Women student with selected vocational/professional courses which provides them the opportunity to get into respectable Jobs and thus make them self reliant. We are not limited to subject teachings as we also emphasize deeply into Personality and Skill Development Workshops, Security Awareness and to Cope With Various Crimes against Women with the Help of Delhi Police and Several NGO’s and last but not the least the Talent and the Real Power of Women who are under Training with International Women Polytechnic, will be portrayed in a Grand Show, Melange-2016 The Blend Of Art.
