VODAFONE RED BRINGS YOU NETFLIX FOR YOUR ON-THE-GO ENTERTAINMENT NEEDS; GIFTS UPTO 1 YEAR SUBSCRIPTION

Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, has partnered with Netflix, the world’s leading Internet television network, to exclusively offer Vodafone Red customers a Netflix subscription of up to one year on select Red Plans. Netflix offers a wide variety of critically-acclaimed Netflix original TV shows including Narcos, House of Cards and The Crown, as well as films, documentaries and original stand-up comedy specials including Vir Das: Abroad Understanding and the upcoming Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say by Aditi Mittal. 

The partnership will offer Vodafone Red customers a gift of Netflix for up to one year on select Red Plans. .New Vodafone Postpaid customers opting for Vodafone Red plans* as well as existing Vodafone Red customers will get Netflix subscription benefits worth Rs 1000, Rs 1500 or Rs 6000 based on their Vodafone Red Plan.

In addition, Vodafone India has entered into a carrier billing partnership with Netflix, which will allow Vodafone subscribers to enjoy the benefit of carrier billing and seamless month-to-month payments within the same bill.

Sandeep Kataria, Director – Commercial, Vodafone India, said “We have done an extensive Data usage analysis of our customers and found that our Postpaid Red customers spend a significant amount of time on video streaming.  Also, subscription to Video on Demand services is also on the rise amongst our customers. The increased uptake of video content has led us to enter into strategic partnerships with marquee digital media players like Netflix. We are excited to partner with Netflix to provide our customers a great content experience with Vodafone SuperNetTM – 4G Data strong network.”

We are living in a hyper-connected age, and digital media players like Netflix are challenging the traditionally maintained supremacy of the television. With better networks, coverage, and advanced technologies (3G, 4G / LTE) the data consumption across markets has risen and the internet continues to be a disruptive force impacting distribution and consumption channels for media. Most of this data growth is attributed to different digital media especially the entertainment services like video1.

“This partnership with Vodafone now makes it more convenient for customers to access the their favourite Netflix movies and TV shows anytime and anywhere; and pay seamlessly within their existing Vodafone account,” said Tony Zameczkowski, Vice President, Business Development, Netflix Asia.

Coming soon on Netflix will be Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say from Aditi Mittal, one of India’s boldest stand-up comedians, and Marvel’s The Defenders. Members will also have exclusive access to highly-awaited Netflix
