Painter Ajay Singh Peelwa, keeping wildlife immortal through his Paintings

Wildlife fascinates many but getting a glimpse is very hard. The reducing population of species is really heartbreaking but thanks to human art for making wildlife immortal. Spreading the message of wildlife conservation to the world through paintings, a majestic painter Ajay Singh Peelwa has portrayed this magical wildlife beautifully on his canvas.

Known for his expertise in Wildlife Paintings, Ajay Singh Peelwa made his place among the best artists of the world. His spellbinding artwork ‘I Am Coming for You’ stood 8th position among top 10 winning artworks at 6th Annual “Nature” Art Online Exhibition 2016 where 814 entries were received from 25 countries. Not just this his artwork is also selected for events at international levels like for David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, Wildlife Artist of the Year 2015, London and for TOFTigers 10th Anniversary event at Prestigious Royal Geographical Society, London. His special artwork named ‘The Emperor’ was selected by the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia (WASA) for Melbourne, International Flower & Garden Show 2017 which happened on 29th March to 2nd April 2017. Same work was selected in 2016 as well by the same society for Wild Awards 2016

Born to a Rajput family of Jodhpur, Ajay Singh Peelwa chose to paint wildlife than to hunt them. At the age of 3, he learned to hold the brush to express his love towards wildlife. He took his paintings to the international level and earned appreciation from famous wildlife painter Robert Bateman. His painting is not just for his passion but to spread the awareness about the global warming and he has made a series of paintings on it. Such kind of messages can be easily seen in his paintings like he mostly chooses Tiger conservation for his canvas.

Being a professional painter, Ajay Singh has evolved many new styles to paint wildlife like, through semi-abstract art, abstract art, realistic, miniature, printmaking, serigraphy, etching, lino etc. And to keep the interest of art lovers Ajay Singh chose to add new medium in his paintings named Cellulosic Paints which provides a high gloss to the paintings.

According to the painter Ajay Singh Peelwa, “My ancestors were professional hunters before independence, as it was considered as sports then but unlike them, I preferred the conservation of wildlife through my paintings. Since childhood, I heard a lot about tigers and horses and they fascinated me as well so, at the age of three I started drawing animals on white sheet later it became a hobby and now it is a profession.
As capturing wildlife on canvas was difficult, I visited many national parks and reserves to see wildlife and study their behavior which helped me in my future paintings. I give a varied impression of the wildlife and show animals in vivid moods. Through my paintings on wildlife, I try to bring awareness to the masses and especially to the authority concerned. Tiger is on the brink of extinction and action should be taken fast.”

Globally applauded for wildlife painting, painter Ajay Singh Peelwa has done many events nationally and internationally. To name few eminent personalities who have been his Guest of Honor  were Late Rajmata Gayatri Devi (Jaipur), Rajmata Padmini Devi (Jaipur), Sri Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena President), Lalit Modi (Former IPL Chairman), H.H. Dr. Karan Singh (Kashmir) and Late H.H. Raj Singh (Dungarpur).
